Hello September: Embracing the Chaotic Beauty of Change

September – a month that feels like a whirlwind of change! It's the awkward stage between lazy summer days and crisp autumn evenings. School starts (cue the frantic packing and schedule juggling!), the holiday season looms on the horizon, and election year adds its own unique brand of buzz. But amidst the chaos, there's a certain beauty to this "in-between" time.

Finding My Light in the Night Sky:

While plans might get tossed around like leaves in the wind, I find comfort and inspiration in the celestial dance above. This month is packed with fascinating lunar events:

  • New Moon (September 3rd): New Moons are typically a fresh start for goals and projects – perfect timing as the school year kicks off!

  • Super Full Moon with Lunar Eclipse (September 18th): Time for a purge! Release anything holding you back and tackle those dreams with renewed energy. Eclipses can add another level of uncertainty but if you want to get to your goals then you have to put in the elbow grease!

The night sky reminds me that my problems are just blips compared to the vast universe. And hey, even if things don't go exactly according to plan, the moon will still be there, a constant guide. (Want to delve deeper? Check out the links below – a little astrology never hurt anyone!)

Embracing the Autumn Equinox

As the days grow shorter and the leaves begin to change, the Autumn Equinox reminds us to find balance in our lives. It's a time to slow down, practice self-care, and prepare for a season of rest and reflection. By honoring the spirit of the Equinox, we can create a sense of harmony and inner peace while still living in a chaotic world. (Not sure what an equinox is? I got you covered! Check the bottom of the blog for National Geographic explaination).

"I get a lot of the ideas when I'm resting - either when I'm meditating or getting some kind of work done on my back, like physical therapy or acupuncture. That's where I get my best ideas, maybe because I'm balancing my body." -Katy Perry

Surviving September: A How-To Guide

Finding Community and Healing Through Events:

Resonance: This is a sound bath and crystal event in Salisbury, it offers a moment of tranquility amidst the chaos. Immerse yourself in soothing sounds and connect with the energy of crystals, providing a much-needed respite from the hectic pace of life.

Resounding Alignment: As we transition into a new season, this event combines sound bath, Reiki, and crystals to help you align with your intentions and rejuvinate for the season. It's a powerful way to prepare for the months ahead and set yourself up for success., now in both Salisbury and Berlin. (Link below for more information and registration - hope to see you soon!)

Seeking Wisdom from the Tarot:

For some extra guidance, I pulled a card for the month: The Sun. While it doesn't guarantee a sunshine-and-rainbows kind of September, it does represent clarity and understanding. It follows a series of cards that often involve learning tough lessons, sometimes feeling more like a bitter pill to swallow.

However, in the grand scheme of tarot storytelling, The Sun is a beacon of hope. After navigating the depths of introspection and healing in the cards before it, seeing this card is like finally emerging from the darkness and basking in the sunlight. It's a reminder that the challenges we face often pave the way for brighter days ahead. (I have to plug my favorite deck, the This Might Hurt tarot's link is further down)

Crystals to Keep Me Going:

Crystals are another tool in my self-care arsenal. This month's pick-me-up is Citrine. This sunny stone is all about boosting confidence and reminding you that you've got this! It aligns well with the solar plexus chakra, the center of your power and self-worth – it's perfect for navigating these hectic times and reminding you that you can handle anything that comes your way. (This sustainably sourced specimen is from South Africa, if you are looking for a Citrine buddy for your September adventures - Let me know!)

Brewing Up a Fall Feeling:

Finally, nothing sets the mood for a cozy autumn quite like a steaming cup of good tea. My current obsession? Autumn Equinox Tea. Packed with Earl Grey, Honeybush, and warm spices like nutmeg and cloves, it's like fall in a cup! Add some oat milk for extra creaminess, or if you're really craving that autumn vibe, a touch of caramel or brown sugar will do the trick. (Find it at Breathe Interiors in Salisbury with the link at the bottom, or hit me up for a scoop!)

So, September: You may be a whirlwind of change and chaotic energy, but there's a certain charm in your messiness. With a little planning, celestial inspiration, and a comforting cup of tea, we can navigate this transition with grace (and maybe a dash of humor). Here's to embracing the "in-between" and all the unexpected beauty it holds!
